Why a Prayer Furnace

Our passion is for Jesus to have Night and Day, City-wide, Corporate Prayer and Worship across our city. The Birmingham Prayer Furnace seeks to connect the Heart of Jesus with His Bride in Birmingham through a growing network of praying communities. Jesus is glorified when we honor the geography, ethnicity, and cultural diversity of His One Bridal People in Birmingham. Therefore the Prayer Furnace moves to various host sites around the city. Help us spread the vision and value of night and day prayer!

We have three goals as the call goes out to "Stand in the Furnace."

1. INTIMACY - More Worship and Prayer - "Will not God bring about justice for His chosen ones, who cry out to Him day and night?" Luke 18:7. Ask yourself this question. Would you rather live in a city that has night and day, persevering, Christ glorifying, corporately connected, praying communities or one that does not? We have gas stations and emergency rooms that never close in Birmingham, why not places where the fire of prayer and worship never go out?
   
    
2. INVOLVEMENT -A City Transformed - "You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden." Matt. 5:14. Birmingham is full of "cultural Christianity," but we are far from being a city shining with bright righteousness that causes the world to take note of our Father in Heaven. We believe unified, corporate, unbroken prayer in the burning heart of God's People will lead to a spiritual climate change in our city shifting our culture toward the justice and righteousness God longs to bring.
   
    
3. URGENCY -A Bride Made Ready for Her King - "At midnight the cry rang out: Here's the Bridegroom! Come out to meet Him!" Matt 25:6. Jesus commanded His people to watch and pray and to be ready for the Bridegroom when He comes. Night and day prayer keeps the oil of God's Spirit flowing into the hearts of His people so that they will be prepared when He comes. Birmingham get ready, Jesus is coming!
